  2. #2 Best High Schools for the Arts in WashingtonTacoma School of the ArtsTacoma School District, WA•9-12•Rating 4.15 out of 5 218 reviewsJunior: Tacoma School of the Arts is an incredible school with amazing resources and teachers with a passion for teaching and helping their students realize their full potential. The schools location and set up helps students build independence and confidence as they head toward adulthood. It is also very friendly and supportive of gay and lesbian students. Their Anti-Racist Library is a wonderful recourse and opportunity to read and learn from a diverse array of authors. Some improvements that could be made is better communication between the school, students, and families, and for more follow-through with discipline. Overall though, it is a great school.... 4. St. Mark Catholic Classical SchoolShoreline, WA•Private School•PK, K-8•Rating 5 out of 5 22 reviewsParent: We choose St Mark because it's important to both my husband and I that our kids attend a school that has high academic standards and be part of an environment that helps teach our children to respect, have discipline, and is both inclusive and diverse. We couldn't be more pleased with St Mark. We have 3 children that attended/attend there. I will start with my eldest who now attends Holy Names Academy. St Marks prepared her in a way we couldn't even imagine. She constantly gets complimented for her study habits, her kindness, and her eagerness. Yes, a lot of that starts at home however we can 100% confidently say they had a lot to do with that. She is getting straight A's at HNA because of their help. Next our son we were a little worried about him "being behind" because he learns different however this school has made him truly blossom. Why? They have the ability to do so because of class size. They offer pre school before and after care. Look into St. mark you won't regret it!... Read 22 reviewsgradeA+Overall Niche GradeStudents 112Student-teacher ratio 11:1

The teachers are stellar - they are passionate about teaching a large range of subjects, they value relationships with students and understand how important this is to getting kids excited about learning, and are incredibly caring, respectful and engaging . 10. #9 Best High Schools for the Arts in WashingtonNova High SchoolSeattle Public Schools, WA•9-12•Rating 4.11 out of 5 28 reviewsSenior: Nova High school is one of the best high schools I have gone to because of the classes, being accepted there, having great friends, and the structure of the school and how it works. The classes are different because you talk more about climate change, justice and racial based classes and also LGBTQ+ classes and that makes the students feel more accepted. We use pronouns at are school meaning that if you want to change your gender we will accept that 100% and support you. My friends are amazing there since they understand what I have gone through and my struggles and we have great deep conversations about real life issues. All my friends understand when I have a bad day and support me no matter what. Are school runs similar to a college we have three classes per day and there longer. Monday and Wednesday classes are the same and Tuesday and Thursday classes are the same. On friday it switches off between those days of classes. We also have no grades only credits which relieves stress.... Student Staff cares about your education and wanting all students to graduate. Campus is very small up to 120+ students and I recommend anyone credit deficent, or struggle with depression etc or you wanting to graduate early. The school gives you plenty of time to get all your work done each of all the terms. plus you attend GSA for the first week of your school and if you complete it you'll receive 0.25 credits, also you can get up to 10 credits per year depending on what term you start.... 14. St. Thomas SchoolMedina, WA•Private School•PK, K-8•Rating 4 out of 5 4 reviewsParent: What an amazing experience my child has had at this school! 1. Community: My child is excited to go to school. A great deal of that excitement is because there is such a strong sense of community. Whether or not a teacher has had your child in their classroom, they know your child. Each morning begins with Chapel, a time for the entire school to come together and discuss different topics ranging from character-development to world religions. 2. Celebration and Exploration: Different cultures and holidays are celebrated and explored, which not only creates understanding but also an awareness of what it means to be a global citizen. For my family, this is very important. 3. Character Development: While the academic curriculum is excellent, we wanted a place that looks to develop the whole child. This is done in a variety of ways, through continuous public speaking opportunities to discussing what it means to be your authentic self. I could go on....... From the small class sizes to the caring teachers, I know my kids are getting exactly what they need to prep them for life to come. Each teacher has been so intentional about getting to know each of my elementary school kids. When it came to the pandemic, they pivoted quickly to remote learning, and continued to get better and better at it until we could all come back in person.
